In this exhibition, enjoy and engage with artwork that is a portal into the inner world of Renée Rey. She creates otherworldly ecospheres in intimate and large-scaled paintings and mixed-media artwork. Imagery of figures, technology, and nature rupture and collide. Interested in states of transformation and movement, Rey examines connections between the sublime, temporal, raw and refined. In the process, she makes associations between seemingly disparate concepts including diverse identities, cultures, spirituality, science, and nature found in our contemporary political and social landscape. Experimenting with oil and acrylic paint, wood branches, string, and other human-made materials, A lifelong spiritual seeker, Rey embraces media that mirror her quest for states of flux and their meaning for a new future.
